Labyrus is a generic 2d top-down survival game prototype 8-bit experience where you can't actually die yet. I worked on it in 2024, on and off from January to March. It offers a very short experience of mucking about...

How to Play:
Change directions and walk around the world with WASD, punch or hit stuff with your currently held item in the direction you're currently facing with X, and place held items with C.
Your inventory is on the left sidebar.
To hold items, press the hold buttons at the side of your items.
To craft, stand near a workstation and look at the left sidebar.
You can skip to the next stage of the day and night cycle by pressing the next stage button on the top right.

Some tips:
Build a workbench after getting 10 wood from punching trees.
Build a furnace, where you can refine mined ore into bars, after getting 10 stone from mining stone with a pickaxe.
To plant seeds - potatoes, rice, etc, you must harvest the wild plants and obtain their seed. Then, use a shovel to dig up grass from the ground, then use a hoe to turn it into farmland. After planting, the crop will take some time to grow. At full maturity, you can harvest the fully grown crop and more seed. Grass eventually grows back over bare soil, but not farmland.
Higher tier ores result in more efficient tools.

Some things you can do include:
Build, hold, and place torches so that you can see at night
Go swimming in water and be happy when it happens to rain
Kill chickens, but unfortunately you cannot eat their meat
Build a crop farm and scale it up, but unfortunately you cannot eat anything
Build a tree farm
Build a house with walls and floors
Stroll until you hit the invisible world barrier
Get increasingly annoyed at the annoying background music
